The successful candidate will be responsible for developing test tools/scripts for functional and performance tests. Requirements: Excellent scripting capability (eg. They offer an end to end turnkey solution including the design, installation and O&M of the train, trackside and NOC installations The Opportunity Our client is building a high quality team in Washington DC to capitalise on the significant opportunities with the leading rail operators. The Role Project Director-Senior Project Manager Our client requires a PD/SPM to manage our partner installers and suppliers to deliver major rail contracts working on rail fleets at multi locations across the US. The projects MUST be delivered ahead of time, ahead of budget and with compliance to the Nomad and rail depot quality and health and safety standards Overcoming rail union issues is a key requirement. Communication and reporting with the client at a high level is paramount Primary Objectives To manage our client’s operations to achieve the highest shareholder value, profit contribution and customer satisfaction. To deliver the client’s projects ahead of budget and ahead of time. Anticipate and manage the risks associated with all aspects of project delivery at the earliest opportunity To manage third party installation contractors across multiple sites Secondary Objectives Customer Relationships To manage the customer relationships during the project – regular customer contact and regular reporting To identify additional business opportunities within, and alongside the projects Staff Manage the project delivery teams in a structured and formal manner to encourage exceptional performance within a ‘delegated’ management structure. Quality Management Systems Manage, implement and report on a QMS policy that is both relevant to the our client’s business and to the future needs of their customers. Requirements for the role An ability to manage multiple rail projects, with a strong technical bias, projects over a wide geographical area within very tight timescales . The ability to view the complete end to end design, and installation process, and anticipate potential problems and manage the risk to zero. The ability to amend programmes quickly A good mechanical and electrical understanding of rail installations, and the implications on the overall Client design. An ability to understand and interface with the customers and the installers A strong man management skill to support and motivate ‘on the ground ‘where required The ability to build and develop a strong US based team The ability to manage suppliers to deliver the requirements A strong and proven ability to apply formal disciplines and reporting to our client’s projects Technically competent and the ability to assimilate the our client’s technology Experience required Managed multi project delivery Rail experience useful |
