About

TopSavings is a place to compare savings accounts, CD rates, money market accounts and bank offers. You’ll also find guides on saving more, earning extra money and the bigger money decisions.

It’s written for anyone who keeps money in a bank and wants to know if a better rate is out there.

What you’ll find here

The comparison pages come first. Each one lists the rate, the minimum to open and the conditions tied to the rate.

A rate with a catch is still a rate with a catch, so the catch goes right next to it.

If you’d rather see what a rate means in dollars, there’s a savings calculator too.

How we check rates

Every rate is read on the bank’s own site or in its own disclosures. We don’t copy it from another list.

Each comparison shows the day its rates were checked, and pages that quote rates end with a Sources list. Rates change, so if a date looks old, check the bank’s site before you open anything.

The full method is on How We Check Rates.

Who writes it

TopSavings is written by Brian Meiggs, who wrote most of the guides here. His author page lists all of them.

Who publishes it

TopSavings is published by MeiggsMedia LLC. It isn’t a bank or a lender. It gives you information about accounts, and you deal with the bank directly.

The Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy cover how the site works and what it collects.
